Directions
Road
Directions within
Ireland:
Inish Rath is 8 miles from Belturbet in north Co. Cavan and 8 miles from
Lisnaskea in south Co. Fermanagh. The quay adjacent to the island is
easy to reach from the cities, e.g. Belturbet is straight up the N3 from
Dublin, and Lisnaskea is reached directly from the M1 and A4
from Belfast.
Both drives take about 2 hours. Or, if coming by bus, please see
the section 'From outside
Ireland' below.
From Dublin
or the South direction go through Belturbet and take the road towards
Enniskillen. After 5 miles take the right turn at Teemore Cross, and
continue 3miles to the end of this road. Coming from the directions NW
and W (e.g. Donegal, Mayo) go to Derrylin. Coming from the directions N,
NE and E (e.g. Derry, Belfast
or Monaghan) go to the Spar shop in Lisnaskea. Derrylin is on one side
of the lake, and Lisnaskea is on the other; they're linked by the
B127 road.
If you are coming from the Derrylin direction slow down after 2 miles
and watch out carefully for the sign and right turn. If you are coming
from the Lisnaskea direction then you will first go over one bridge, and
then another, and the sign and turn-off is a left turn directly after
the 2nd bridge. From this point from all directions simply follow the
road signs to Inish Rath.

If you're not hiring a car or getting a lift then here are the details:
Walk outside the main entrance of airport. Directly in front go to Stop
7. At 1.20pm, 3.20pm and 5.20pm a coach that has as it's final
destination 'Donegal' stops. Use one of these coaches, and ask for a
ticket to Belturbet (return ticket is 23 euro). Ask the driver to let
you know when you get to Belturbet - they are friendly and obliging and
are happy to help. The timetable is at:

In
Belturbet you are only 8 miles from Inisrath Island, so get a local taxi. Phone the
Republic of Ireland
numbers (+353) 087 2561243 or 086 8175196. It's best to make an initial
taxi booking that morning or the day before with the drivers Benny or
Vinny, and then call them when you're in Belturbet. Charge: about 11
euro. If you are coming like this talk to us, and we'll help to make
