Aug    15-17  2008 Exotic Vegetarian Cookery (made simple)

Champakalata Devi Dasi, our young enthusiastic chef with a pretty smile coming all the way from Latin America delights participants again with her repertoire of exotic cuisine.

We'll be learning how to cook simple vegetarian cuisine of India, plus a Chinese and European dish or two. And although relatively easy to make, the different preparations are sure to impress friends, family and, of course, oneself. Sometimes we all hanker for something different  and with a bit of flare. Cooking is all about learning exciting combinations with wholesome ingredients. A big worry these days is that it'll take too much time, but with a little forethought and - most importantly - practise, cooking need not be such a chore. On this retreat we'll discover it can even be fun...

Sept     19 - 21  2008 Inner Coaching

Private one-to-one consultations with Tim McEvitt, founder of Lake Isle Retreats, who lived as an island monk for 8 years during the ninties. Inner coaching involves gentle coaching techniques and a philosophy that sees everything through the light of the ancient Vedic wisdom of India. This philosophy is the oldest, and perhaps one of the most complete systems of knowledge regarding the essential points of birth, death, life and living.

Along with the coaching relaxation and meditation are included to calm body, mind and soul.

Bring a friend and the fee becomes 355EUR  (275GBP) each for a private en suite room. However, the consultations remain one-on-one.

Sept     26-28 2008 Women's Holistic Luxury Retreat

SPECIAL OFFER FOR WOMEN'S HOLISTIC LUXURY RETREAT

Bring a friend or two and the fee becomes 275EUR  (210GBP) each when you share a private en suite room together.

With new locally-based therapist, Fiona Gracey, we offer this opportunity for women to get a well deserved break.

What you get:

* x2 hour-long full-body aromatherapy massages

*  one 20 minute Indian Head massage and one 20 minute reflexology session (or options if you want more of these, and less of the aromatherapy)

Note - these therapies themselves cost 200 euro or 150 pounds on their own.

* two beginners yoga classes

* two relaxation / meditation classes

* 6 delicious vegetarian meals

* Short talk / discussion on living simply with nature and leaving a small carbon footprint.

* 2 nights private en suite accommodation in a retreat centre on a beautiful wooded island

*time to relax, stroll around and enjoy the fresh air and lakeland atmosphere

* return ferry crossing

...and all this for 290 euro, or 275 each if you bring a friend!

Therapist Fiona Gracey is a young enthusiastic mother of four, who is also dedicated to environmental concerns. She and her family were featured on RTE Nationwide in July 2008 - they live in a rural straw-bale and hemp / lime eco-house which is heated with wood, lit by candles, is very warm and cosy, and they all love it. They grow organic vegetables, are training one of their horses to pull a cart (and maybe a plough!) and get water from their own well. Not only will she give the massages, but she'll also give a talk about living gently with the natural world.

The yoga and meditation is taught by Tim McEvitt, a former monk of Inisrath Island, who now helps to run Lake Isle Retreats with his wife Champakalata and the beautiful baby Janaki. Champa is the chef for the weekend.

(note: although Tim used to be a monk on Inisrath, it is standard practise for monks (brahmacaris) in Vedic or Hindu culture to get married later on in life, often when they reach their 30's. It's culturally different than the present standard in the Catholic Church)

Bring a friend or two and the fee becomes 275EUR  (210GBP) each when you share a private en suite room together.
